The Facts and
a Picture

I am a photographer and lover of Brazil and Brazilians. I've gone to Rio for Carnaval every year since 1991, except this year when I went to Bahia. I just found out about Brazzil and I love the fact that your magazine seems to be very honest and frank regarding some of Brazil's more serious issues. Brazil is a beautiful country with beautiful people, and talking about Brazil's problems isn't going to lessen the love that people feel for Brazil. As long as your magazine is honest and up front about the issues, it is going to grow, and into something big.

I have a photograph of a great looking Brazilian child that I took on Copacabana beach in Rio, that you might want to consider for your cover. The image of this child for me represents Brazil's future, which is its youth. I have this picture and many others, which I will be happy to send you copies of by e-mail or by regular mail if you are interested in using them for your magazine. Keep up the good work and good luck!

Thanks for the
Memories

It was very interesting reading your article "The Godfather" in the February issue about Coronel Limoeiro. Padrinho Chico (Godfather), was the way I used to hear friends and many other people call him. I lived near Limoeiro and attended high school there and I could see that people had faith in his words, and feared his actions. Coronel Chico really was a tough man, there was nobody like him around that area. Some hated him, some loved him, but the most important thing was that everyone respected him, and from the poorest to the richest he was a real Godfather.

It sure did bring me old memories. Thank you. You guys are excellent. As you know, for most Brasileiros who live here in the USA and in other parts of the world, your Brazzil magazine plays a very important role, which is keeping us close together month after month. Que beleza! Once again, muito obrigado.

An Expert
in Brazil

I have subscribed to your excellent magazine for several years now. I just discovered that my subscription ran out in March and wanted to renew it again so that I will not miss any future issues. This time I would like to renew my subscription for the next three years and have put my check in the mail today. I am a great fan of your magazine and find it a wonderful source of political, social and historical information about Brazil. I have learned so much from reading Brazzil and always seem to amaze my Brazilian friends with the knowledge I've picked up from your magazine. Keep up the good work and you will continue to find my name on your subscription list.

Prospecting
Brazil

I recently received my first copy of Brazil. I like it so much I am enclosing my subscription fee for two years. I am a business owner who is interested in acquiring more knowledge about the Brazilian culture. I intend someday to expand my business to Brazil. I would appreciate it if you could assist me in identifying persons in the Washington DC, Maryland, Pennsylvania, or New Jersey areas who would be interested in providing me information of the Brazilian language and culture.

Fuzzy
Faces

I have enjoyed your magazine on and off for a few years, and I'd like to say that it's a well done publication. Often I've read that you're looking for volunteers for things like proofreading, and I'd like to know specifically what kind of assistance you need. I am not a publishing expert, but I've been working at a publishing company for about a year and I have some knowledge of photos and photo cleanup. Your images are often muddy, and I think that their line screen is too high.

Enjoy your magazine. I spent three months in Brazil, with Rotary International. North and South Brazil. It changed my life and I look forward to returning. Met several women and continue to correspond. Your mag keeps me in touch.

Doubling It

I discovered your magazine today and I was glad because I am Brazilian and I was missing something like that. I've already ordered the magazine on line, but I would like another subscription to be sent to a friend of mine.

Missing
Brazil

Please, find enclosed my check for my subscription. I am anxious to be more in touch with Brazil, my second home. I lived in Rio and surrounding for 17 years. I got married there, and my three children were all born there. Estou com uma saudade louca! And the magazine would help me to "matar a saudade."

Willing
to Talk

Congratulations to Brazzil. I traveled around the world and noticed that people in general have very little information on Brazil. I am Brazilian and live in São Paulo and I am available to exchange ideas with people from other countries about Brazilian behavior, culture, politics, humor, family and social life, etc. Just send an e-mail to: milordsp@hotmail.com

Searching
for a Face

In the next issue of the German Greenpeace Magazine, we're publishing a story about the British company The Body Shop. I've seen in your really interesting magazine the article "Broken Promises", by Saulo Petean, published in December 1996. We would very much like to print the photo from the Brighton UK Body Shop with the posters of the Brazilian Kayapo Indians in the shop window. Could we get this photo from you?

Calling
Writers

I am looking for some freelance journalist contacts in Central and South America and I was hoping Brazzil could help me. I want to travel to Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and Colombia to film. The journalist needs to speak English/Portuguese and have experience in covering football (soccer).

No Brazzil
in Rio

I am moving to Rio de Janeiro this month. Can you please advise me as to where I may find Brazzil (newsstand) in Rio. I am very interested in your magazine. Right now, I do not know what my permanent address will be in Rio and therefore, I am unable to provide an address as to where I can receive a subscription.

Brazil
Exposure

I would like to be in touch with Brazil through your publication, and send you an article on how a Brazilian artist found a wonderful way to expose people to art in New Mexico and other states by painting elaborate detailed art work on motorcycles and autos.
